"It was amazing. Tough at first because I've never taught before and there was little direction, but once I got into the swing of things+ got to know the kids, it was so enjoyable and unbelievably rewarding. The Kids were really well behaved and had great manners. It was really hard to leave them!!.....I made some great new friends with other volunteers, spent weekends exploring other areas in Cambodia and made awesome memories making popcorn and having slumber parties with 85 really inspiring children."

"I learnt a lot about Cambodia and international law which I found very interesting. The staff was absolutely wonderful; they provide me with everything I needed and were appreciative of my work with them. I felt like I contributed positively to the organisation which is the most important thing."

"I was teaching English and maths with grades 3-7 but strongly focused on preparing grade 7 for Pannasastra High School next year. I stayed at the orphanage each day from 9am to 5pm or longer. In the breaks I talked a lot with the teachers (practising English and Khmer) and played with the children….Yes, absolutely because it is a great organization that is run by great people and totally worth supporting it."

"From the moment I arrived in Cambodia my host family took great care of me. They are the best. My volunteer experience was many things to me:humblying, rewarding, fun, hard work. I got to love these children very quickly. The children were polite wanting to learn so much. It was so hard to leave them last night. The staff at the orphanage were great to me and hope to keep in touch with them to see what they are doing. I will tell everyone back home that they must help where they can. This is a great organization and I was proud to be a part of it. Thank you. It is hard to put into words what I feel in my heart. This experience has made me a better person. I will never forget the time I have spent in Cambodia and would love to return to help again. Thank you."

"This was great, the house was very nice and had everything that I needed. The family were wonderful and very accommodating. I enjoyed the food a lot too and there was always plenty of it. I think staying with a family made it much easier and more enjoyable then if I had stayed in an apartment."

"I gained much knowledge about NGOs have to cope with in Cambodia. Most important experience was the adjust to and work in a very different society."

"My volunteer experience has been deeply moving. I always heard that I was lucky to be born in Canada, but I never realized how lucky until I came to Cambodia and worked with orphaned children here. The social and economic issues here will take generations to improve. Sometimes my efforts feel like a drop in the ocean, but the ocean was filled a drop at a time. So hopefully I can encourage others to throw in the drop, and together we can fill this empty sea of poverty and suffering."

"My work experience was excellent. From the moment we landed in Cambodia we were well looked after of great & friendly people who helped us with everything. From the moment I started my work experience I also had a great time. I was staying at a host family who turned out to be the most wonderful people you can imagine. Cooking great food everyday & taking us around. The actual work experience was pretty much as good as it gets. I got to work both in the office & in the field. Since I don't speak any Khmer there are difficulties & Limits to what you can do but the staff went out of their way to include me in everything they did. I'm also pleased I got to work in an organization that does so much good & important work. Overall I recommend this for anybody whether they're traveling for the first time, Uni students, old, young, whatever. Great!"
