The VAC program invites volunteers from all over the world to work with Cambodian non-governmental organizations. Through Cultural Exchange it shall be a Learning Experience for both sides. We hope to be able to meet your ideas about your internship and to offer you an unforgettable experience. At the same time we want to find qualified and committed volunteers for STAR Kampuchea and our partner organizations. Thus, we carefully and extensively prepare your stay in Cambodia.

| What does the VAC program offer? |
We offer volunteer placements in well-acknowledged NGOs in
different fields of development work, for example in the
following fields: |
| - Advocacy training and advocacy activities |
| - Human rights |
| - Women’s and children’s rights |
| - Gender equality |
| - Rural and agricultural development |
| - Community development |
| - Health |
| - HIV/AIDS |
| - Environmental protection |
| - English/ IT teaching |
| - Organization and management |
| - Construction and other more practical work (hairdresser, cosmetics, painter,...) |
| To gain a deep insight into the organizations and their activities a minimum stay of six weeks is recommended. |

| Each placement will be carefully coordinated between the volunteer, the host organization and the VAC program itself. |
| - We advice and support the volunteer in throughout the organization of his/her stay in Cambodia: in finding a suitable accommodation and by providing organizational information and information about the country. |
| - A good start is most important: we will meet you at the airport, organize the transfer to your accommodation and help you get your bearings. |
| - We usually introduce ourselves with a welcome dinner (where you will get to know other volunteers) and a presentation about STAR Kampuchea, the VAC program and transfer you to your organization for an introduction (We join you on the trip to the province). |
| - During your stay you will have a fixed contact person from the VAC program, who will stay in contact with you, answer all your questions and help you to solve possible problems. |
| - We will provide you with a Welcome map, Pre Departure Information and a Proof of the work which has been done. |
| - Farewell: when you leave the country after the end of your internship, we would like to say goodbye and ask you for any feedback you may have. We will also arrange your transport to the airport. |
| - Please be aware that the VAC Program is not able to pay the volunteers a salary. |

have basic knowledge in human and legal rights, democracy, social and community development or a related field. Appropriate studies and work experience would be welcomed. |

are interested in and sensitive to the Cambodian culture |
|
have good English skills. |
| As the VAC program is run by Cambodian Volunteers and not yet supported by any donors, we have to charge a small program fee depending on the length of your stay. |
